Happy Holidays! Christmas is around the corner and now that the kids are out of school and you’re (hopefully) off of work it’s time to make chocolate chip cookies. I’m not talking about the store bought, pre-made dough kind. Not that anything is wrong with those, but from scratch made with love is even better. I have tried this recipe a few times to make it just right. The part that takes longest, is measuring out the ingredients. Other than that it is a breeze to make and easy to involve the kids. We made some with just chocolate chips and some with chocolate chips and mini M&M’s. Both turned out really good and were a hit. Check out my TikTok or the recipe below to see how it’s made.
Ingredients for Holiday Chocolate Chip Cookies
Check your pantry first, because you may already have most of the ingredients. You will need flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, baking soda, unsalted butter, vanilla extract, eggs, salt. Of course the stars of these holiday chocolate chip cookies with mini m&m’s is in the name, so don’t forget those. As far as equipment you’ll need a hand mixer, mixing bowls, a baking pan and parchment paper. Once you have those together and measured out, you are ready to go. It does get a little messy so maybe use an apron or have the broom ready for flour on the floor. A major key to this recipe is making the dough ahead of time and let cool in the refrigerator for at least 30 min. The longer the better.
Recipe for Holiday Chocolate Chip Cookies with Mini M&M’s
Holiday Chocolate Chip and Mini M&M’s Cookies
Equipment
- 1 Hand mixer
Ingredients
- 2 cups Flour
- 1 cup Brown sugar
- ¾ cup Granulated sugar
- 1 tsp Baking soda
- ½ tsp Salt
- 1⅙ stick Unsalted butter, softened
- 1½ tsp Vanilla extract
- 2 Eggs
- 1 bag Semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 bag Mini M&M's
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°
- In a mixing bowl stir together flour, baking powder and salt.
- In a separate mixing bowl, with hand mixer, mix together softened butter and sugar
- Add in eggs and vanilla extract to sugar mixture and mix together until cohesive
- Add the flour mix to the wet ingredients and mix together slowly with hand mixer until the flour has disappeared
- Mix in chocolate chips and M&M's
- Let the dough sit in the refrigerator for at least 30 min
- Lay parchment paper onto baking sheet
- Roll dough into balls
- Bake for 8-10 minutes depending on your oven
- Let the cookies rest on baking rack for 5-10 minutes and enjoy!
I know that Santa will be pleased with these chocolate chip cookies. It’s ok if he has more than 2 😄. Maybe this will become a tradition for the family on Christmas Eve.
