Atlanta Botanical garden cover

If you have lived in or around Atlanta for awhile you know there is always something going on outside. My plan and hopes for this season is to be able to visit some outside attractions that are family-friendly. Afterward giving you all an honest review and what you need to know before you go. Recently the fam and I had some Spring time fun at Atlanta Botanical Garden. It was one of those days where the weather was warmer than it should be and it was perfect to be outside. Here are some key tips if you are thinking about bringing your family, friends or even a nice day date.

How much is Atlanta Botanical Garden?

Full disclosure, we were gifted a membership for Christmas so we have unlimited access for the season. The membership price starts at $80 a year and goes up to $12,000, the latter being extremely VIP everything with all the extras and free guests you like. We have the family plan which is $125 and good for 2 adults and 2 kids. If you feel like your family will go to Atlanta Botanical Garden even just two times, this is a nice deal. Memberships include free regular entry, exclusive invitations, discounts and more. Regular admission is free for 2 and under. Kids prices (3-12) start at $21.95 and go up to $29.95 depending on the day and type of ticket. Ages 13 and up prices start at $24.95 and go up to $32.95. Here is more ticket information.

Can I bring food?

The short answer is no. They do not allow outside food, but you can bring a reusable water bottle. They offer three dining options inside the gardens, a snack bar, grab and go cafe and a sit down restaurant. We went to the snack bar and because it was a busy day a lot of the items were sold out. My recommendation is to go to Piedmont Park, which is right next to Atlanta Botanical Garden, and have a picnic then walk over to the gardens.

What to do at Atlanta Botanical Garden?

So obviously it’s a garden and there are tons of different plants around. But if you go with your kids, you can’t miss out on the Children’s Garden. There is a playground there, cool art work, water painting and of course beautiful greenery. From now until mid-September you can see the Trolls: Save The Humans exhibit which are enormous sculptures built with recycled materials. The scenery is calming even with children, so I do recommend going. It gives everyone an appreciation for the Earth and nature.
