One of the most rewarding and hardest things in life is being a mother. Whether you have one child or a dozen you brought life into this world and your love and care for your child is going to make the biggest impact in their life.
There are so many mothers in my life, my mom, grandmothers, in-laws and friends that are moms, that have made an impression on me as a mom.
To my mommy friends, y’all are Bomb! Each one of you inspires me everyday. It seems like it wasn’t that long ago that we were trying to figure out lives for ourselves. Now look at us starting families and raising little ones. The best part is that our children get to play together and then the friendships grow even more. That’s God showing his love for us.
To my grandmothers, I am so blessed to have you both in my life at age 29, and to continue to learn from you. My children have three living great-grandmothers and I hope that they will cherish that. Mama Joice and Nana your words of encouragement, enlightenment and wisdom help me be a good mom. I truly look up to you both.
To my mother, the appreciation I have for you grows as I mature as a mom. They always say something like when you have kids they’ll give you 2 times the hell you gave your parents. Sometimes I think that is happening to me. All the little things you have done and still do for me mean a lot, like getting me an outfit before an event or making my favorite meal and the big things, like my wedding show how much you love and care for me. Now Mila and Maxwell get to love you, Queen, as I do. Thank you mommy for being Bomb, I love you, Happy Mother’s Day!
