The winter holidays are approaching and as school and work start to wind down your family will more than likely be itching to do something. Of course it is best to stay home and socially distant right now, and if you want your family to do that, awesome. Check out these at-home activities. If you want to keep the holiday activities somewhat normal, I have some options of places to go. Christmas Drive-In Laser Show at Sam Smith Park Dec. 3-6

  • In Cartersville, come enjoy a holiday- themed laser show to Christmas music. All attendees are to be in their car or the designated tail-gate seating area in parking spots. Feel free to bring blankets, chairs, hot cocoa and enjoy the show.

A Christmas Carol: The Live Radio Play at Summerville Dec. 4- 23

  • The Alliance Theatre is putting on the classic Christmas tale in a drive-thru production. It will be performed rain or shine at Summerville near the Georgia State stadium. Tickets are per vehicle.

Sparkle Drive-Thru Parade in Sandy Springs Dec. 6

  • Sandy Springs is changing up their annual parade to be a drive-thru parade. All floats will be set up and stable for attendees to drive by and they can tune their radio to hear the festivities, staying warm in the car.

The Gift presented by Marietta’s Theatre in the Square, Dec 10-31

  • Not feeling going out for your holiday activities? Stream this holiday performance from home and support the Theatre with recovery from the pandemic. Singing and dancing to your favorite holiday tunes.

Xfinity Movie Series at The Battery, Now- Dec 18

  • Enjoy family-friendly movies on the big screen next to Truist Park. Bring your own blanket, chair and take-out from a nearby restaurant. Movies include Kicking & Screaming, How To Train Your Dragon, The Grinch and more.

Lights of Life at Life University, Now- Dec. 31

  • Annual Lights of Life in Marietta is continuing their tradition. Enjoy the holiday lights, pony and train rides, petting zoo and concession stand. Price per vehicle.

  • Feel like taking a small road trip? Just a 2-hour drive from the city is Rock City Gardens. Enjoy the winter wonderland of 43-foot tree of lights, meet Santa in his office and holiday shopping.

Candy Rush at Six Flags White Water Now – Jan 3

  • World of Illumination is bringing the world’s largest animated light show to GA. It is a drive-thru only holiday activity, so plenty of social distance. It will feature 2 million holiday lights, everyone will be thrilled to see.

  • On select nights, come see Six Flags as it transforms into a magical atmosphere. Most rides and attractions will be open as well as Christmas trees, festive lights and shows plus tasty holiday treats.

  • Stone Mountain transforms with many holiday activities including; festive lights and music, holiday characters and shows plus enjoy park attractions
ATL Botanical Gardens

Garden Lights, Holiday Nights at Botanical Gardens Now – Jan 16

  • Botanical Gardens annual holiday lighting of the sculptures is returning. Capacity is reduced and tickets are required to be purchased ahead.

Atlanta Festival of Lights at Atlantic Station Dec. 4- Jan 18

  • A new drive-thru light experience at Atlantic Station. Get the fam in the car to enjoy colorful displays and twinkling lights. Tickets per vehicle.

Skate the Station at Atlantic Station Now – Jan 18

  • Come visit the only outdoor skating rink in Atlanta, for this fun holiday activity. This year there will be advanced purchased tickets only and limited capacity.

  • Lanier Island has lots of holiday activities to choose from. Enjoy snow tubing, snow ball fights, carnival rides, festive lights and more. We went earlier this year and the kids loved it.
