For the past few years my family has taken traditional holiday photos. Normally I create holiday cards with the photos through a card making site or pick up from the photo center. This year with shipping being backed up and deadlines being sooner, I know I’m not going to get them sent out in time. After everything that has happened this year, I just want to be lazy, eat cookies and watch Christmas movies. That is why I am opting for virtual holiday cards instead, for less stress and more time with the family.

Holiday Card Ideas

If you are in need of some ideas for your holiday cards, check out my latest post on The Find. I am sharing how and ways to take pictures at home. Including using social media platforms, like Tik-Tok, Instagram and YouTube. I also give a few ideas on themes such as family pandemonium, COVID necessary item and more. If you want to use photos taken earlier in the year, use photo apps on your phone to edit holiday themes into your photos. These are ways to make the virtual card memorable and unique to your family.

Pros of virtual holiday cards

We all know that shipping prices seem to go up every year. Not only that, but this year more people are choosing to mail stuff due to not being able to travel to see their families. Along with that deadlines are earlier for arrival before Christmas. Sending virtual holiday cards forgo those shipping hassles and the possibility of getting lost or damaged. Also there are so many websites that offer free e-cards with holiday templates that will match your photos. You can also be sure that you will be spreading Christmas cheer and not germs.

Personalize

I am that person that sends out the same holiday card to my close family and friends. I rarely write personal messages to them, but I want to change that with the virtual cards. Think about it, when you post on social media you can reply to comments with thank yous and well wishes. Also when you send out e-cards you can send individual messages to your recipients. Your family could make a video and have shout-outs to your loved ones. Virtual does not mean impersonal, it just means you can not be there physically. This year has been a whirl wind and sending out virtual holiday cards may be what your heart needs.
