I’m all about a good theme when it comes to treats. Spring is such a cute theme and easy for delicious treats. These are some you can make for your family and also have the kids help as well. They are normal everyday treats with a little pop of Spring. These five Spring treats are great whether you are going to a small gathering or just having something at home. They are simple and quick to make, and if you keep snacks in your pantry like us, you probably have the ingredients.

Spring shaped pancakes

In my family pancakes can be made and eaten any time of the day. In this case, you can make it for a yummy breakfast or as Spring treats after dinner. It is super simple. All you need is your favorite pancake mix (either box or homemade) and steel cookie cutters or plastic. If using plastic then you will make your pancakes regularly and cut them after they have cooled. If using steel cookie cutters you can pour the mix right into the shape. I made the mistake of using the plastic ones on the pan, thinking that I could take them off before they melted. Well they melt pretty quickly so I highly do not recommend. The pancakes that are a little burnt are the ones I did with the plastic, but they turned out great and the kids enjoyed them.

Fruit Smoothie

Since the weather is warming up, a cool drink will be the perfect Spring treat. I made a super simple smoothie using a bag of frozen fruit and almond milk. Of course you can use your own frozen fruit and add healthy greens like spinach or kale as well. Bonus, after I served the kids I added a few fresh strawberries and two shots of 1800 tequila. That was the game changer, it tastes delicious so if you are in the mood for a little extra spirit, give it a try or even add wine, for a sangria. Just make sure the kids do not get into the adult drinks.

Spring carrots

When you think of Spring you might think of bunnies and carrots. This Spring treat will look like a carrot, but definitely not taste like them. All you have to do is assemble, no cooking, baking, cooling or really preparation involved. All you need to make these are; Goldfish crackers, edible grass (I found at Five Below) and piping bags. That is it, you simply put the crackers in the bag almost the top, stick in the grass and then secure with a ribbon or rubber band and boom you have your spring carrots. Also super simple for the kids to help with as well.

Spring themed Rice Krispie Treats

Most kids love Rice Krispie treats no matter the season. These spring treats are perfect for after Easter dinner. They are regular Rice Krispie treats with food coloring and shaped into Easter themes, like a cross and a bunny. I used the super simple method of microwaving the butter and marshmallows, so I did not have to use the stove. You will need 4 tbsp of butter, 4 cups or Rice Krispies and one 10 oz bag of marshmallows. Microwave the butter first, then add the marshmallows and microwave for 1-2 minutes. Next pour the marshmallows into two or more separate bowls, depending on how many colors you want to have. Once that is done add in the Rice Krispies, I did about a cup in each color and 2 cups in the one that wasn’t colored. Next lay it out flat on a sprayed pan with parchment paper. When it is cooled then you can use spring shaped cookie cutters to shape it, or form shapes yourself. I did both. Turned out pretty good, it is a little sticky to touch.

Frosted and sprinkled Oreo spring treats

Oreo’s can easily be an everyday treat, but if you add frosting and sprinkles it becomes a spring treat. Like the Spring carrots, this one is super simple and does not involve any baking or cooling. All you need is a tub of Funfetti vanilla frosting, gel food coloring and Oreo’s, that’s it. I divided the frosting into thirds so we could have three different colors. The frosting comes with the Spring colored sprinkles, which makes it even easier. We spread frosting onto about a fourth of the Oreo, then added the sprinkles. You can stop there, and you can always use whatever kind of frosting you like, or use chocolate melts.

Hopefully this Spring you and your family will be able to try some of these Spring treats. Let me know how it turns out. Another idea, for breakfast you all can try is Tie-Dye Waffles.
